Launch of the Kgomotsego Thusong Service Centre

The Community of Van Zyls Rus attending the launch of Kgomotsego Thusong Service Centre

The Premier of Northern Cape, Ms Dipuo Peters launched Kgomotsego Thusong Service Centre in John Taolo Gaetsewe District formerly known as Kgalagadi District on the 14th of April 2009. Kgomotsego Thusong Service Centre is situated in Van Zyls Rus 189 kilometers north of Kuruman town and is a hub of government service delivery. This means that the residents of this community who are mostly farm workers will receive services closer to where they live.

Departments such as Home Affairs, Safety and Liaison, Labour, Social Services and Tourism will render its services to the centre once a week, while the Library, Clinic and Municipal services are permanently based in the centre.

In her speech the Premier said the centre will relieve the community’s burden of traveling expenses and long distances to access services and that this shall reclaim the public’s confidence on the public service system. 

“This centre in line with the government mandate and Batho Pele Principles will provide essential government services and ensure that your dignity as citizens is restored” said the Premier.
