"It's been a great pleasure and honour for me to have been in this part of the country, in this lovely town and to have facilitated this training" these were the words of Professor Collins Miruka.
Miruka, is an Associate professor of Management Sciences at the Graduate School of Business and Government Leadership in the North West University. He was in Tzaneen to facilitate three-day training on behalf of the Public Administration Leadership and Management Academy (PALAMA) on Excellent Customer Services for officials working at Thusong Services Centres.
Thusong Service Centres, formerly known as MPCCs are one-stop centres, aimed at bringing services closer to the previously disadvantaged communities, particularly in the remote villages. Service providers from Mokwakwaila, Bulamahlo, Lesedi and Relela Thusong Services Centres had gathered at Ivory Tusk Lodge for the training.
"This is a very beautiful town, and I was particularly happy with the participation from all delegates. The gender mix was excellent and those who participated were enthusiastic and generally undertook the prescribed activities with passion, "said Miruka.
Sepeke Maake, from Home Affairs said the lessons gained from the workshop were priceless. Maake assists people with applications for Identity Document and birth certificates applications at both Bulamahlo and Lesedi Thusong Service Centres on Wednesdays and Thursdays, respectively.
Maake said that "this is not the first training I have attended for frontline staff, but I must say the course content and the facilitator made this one quite special. The activities that we undertook throughout the training helped us to make assessment of where we need to improve as public servants." |
